More Israeli meddling to raise the pressure on the US to attack Iran.<\/p>\n
According to the AP news service, “officials of a country critical of Iran\u2019s atomic program” – ie Israel – leaked its reporters a diagram purportedly showing that Iran has been running computer simulations of a nuclear warhead capable of producing three times the explosive force of the bomb dropped on Hiroshima.<\/p>\n
Even assuming that these documents are real, and that they show official efforts at developing a weapon, and not the computer musings of a university professor somewhere in Iran (very big ifs), what I find extraordinary is the report’s horrified tone. THREE times the force of the Hiroshima bomb!<\/p>\n
Let’s put that in perspective. How much explosive force does an average modern US – or Israeli – nuclear weapon have? Apparently it’s TWENTY times that of the Hiroshima bomb. But who cares – the goal here is to goad us into another attack on a Muslim country, and any pretext will do.<\/p>\n
